My joy in photographing people comes from capturing the spark within. My photojournalistic background leads me to take a storytelling approach to portrait sessions, and I love collaborating with my subjects to create portraits that say something about them.
A photo session for a couple is always fun and relaxed. I take as many as 600 images in two hours, generally shooting outdoors using available light. I'm always open to your ideas, and enjoy collaborating to make your portrait something that says "this is who we are!"
An engagement session is also a great way for photographer and couple to get to know each other before a wedding. You get to experience how I work in a setting that is free from the stress of the wedding day, and it affords me the opportunity to experiment with how to photograph you best.
Once the session is complete, I edit the images down to the best 200 or so images, and post them online for you to view and pick your favorite. Next I perform any retouching necessary or requested. I then provide you with whatever you need, whether it is a print or digital file, so that you have what you need to let people know about your engagement. I can also produce a matted (or matted and framed) 11X14 or larger image for display at the wedding.
