08/20/07: Avatara
In January, I photographed and did the design work for Avatara, a local singer/songwriter. We did the shoot in my living room studio, using my trusty Alien Bees lighting. I used a 3'X5' soft box and a honeycomb grid in various configurations for a series of shots. for the cover I then composited Avatara with an image of an oak tree on the Pacific slope of Mt. Tam, and added a little glow to the crystal. The honeycomb spot creates the illusion that the crystal is lighting her face. I enjoyed working with Avatara, she came to the shoot prepared with solid ideas and props, and was great fun to work with. Thanks Avatara!
